Finding Your Golden Hours

Opt In | Ep. 35

If you take away one thing from this episode of Opt In, let it be this:

Use evidence to create an efficient agenda.

And if you take away two things, include this:

Protect your golden hours at all costs.

What are golden hours?

In short, “golden hours” is a phrase used to define the time in which you are most efficient at (and should be) building pipeline. For most reps, that usually means one thing: cold calling.

😨

You can make your cold calling a lot easier and a lot more fruitful by identifying and prioritizing your golden hours. That means:

A) Know when your golden hours are. When are people picking up the phone? When are you getting the most engagement/replies? Capitalize on that data and call when people are more likely to answer.

B) Prepare prepare prepare. Don’t waste your golden hours by executing non-pipeline activities. Research, meetings, and cadence creation should be done beforehand to make sure you make the most of your golden hours.

C) Stay Vigilant. Responding to emails/Slacks, meeting with co-workers, and sending email follow-ups can wait. The best reps build a process that allows them to push out as much activity as they can in a short amount of time while limiting distractions AND budgeting time for other activities.

We know that all of this is easier said than done, but we have to start somewhere. AJ and Alex dive into how you can find your golden hours and why protecting that time is so important.
