Galerie Magazine blends art, design, and culture into a luxury editorial experience trusted by interior designers, architects, collectors, and tastemakers. As its subscriber base and digital ad revenue grew, so did the need for a more flexible, high-performing platform.

To keep pace with that momentum, Galerie set out to rebuild its website—eliminating technical limitations, strengthening its publishing environment, and creating more space for ad innovation and audience insights.

Galerie’s old website was holding the brand back. Frequent outages, a fragile backend, and a clunky CMS made publishing unreliable and ad delivery inflexible. Editors faced frustrating workflows, and monetization was limited by static placements and weak analytics.

As digital readership and ad revenue grew, so did the need for a platform that could scale. Galerie needed speed without sacrificing visual quality, flexibility for both editors and advertisers, and the stability to support high-end storytelling.

This wasn’t just a redesign—it was a complete rebuild to match the ambition and elegance of the brand.

Creating a digital platform worthy of Galerie’s editorial vision

Galerie needed more than a visual refresh. We partnered with their team to design and build a site that could keep pace with the publication’s premium content, complex workflows, and ambitious growth plans.

From scalable infrastructure to rich media handling and ad optimization, every decision was made to support a best-in-class digital publishing experience.

Galerie came to the table with an incredible eye for layout, typography, and image hierarchy; skills honed through years of luxury print publishing. Their instincts elevated the visual standard from day one, and we collaborated in a dynamic, constantly-evolving process.

We worked closely to help translate that aesthetic into a digital format that would feel both familiar and intuitive. Where print didn’t map 1:1, we guided Galerie toward interactive solutions that respected their brand while unlocking new storytelling possibilities.

Rebuilding the CMS foundation for editorial stability

Galerie’s previous CMS was too rigid and inflexible for even easy day-to-day publication – let alone evolving needs for ad placements and delivery.

We replaced Galerie’s unstable site infrastructure with a modern WordPress build, giving the team a secure, scalable platform they can update without hesitation.

Handling the largest content migration to date 

Bringing over 5,000 articles and 40,000 images from an existing site onto a new CMS is no easy feat – especially when major changes are needed to the tagging and categorization structures underpinning them.

Our team transformed thousands of content assets into flexible, modular pieces, which allowed us to drive the strategy for fully refreshed taxonomies, layouts, and structure to match the new look and feel.

The result: a fully-refreshed content library of all of Galerie’s previously-published content, all neatly packaged in a new brand and designed for a whole new world of flexibility.

Prioritizing visuals without compromising speed 

Striking, high-resolution imagery is core to Galerie’s brand. We knew the new design of the site needed to reflect and build on that same visual language, right down to the tiniest elements.

We implemented smart cropping and responsive design to ensure crisp, immersive visuals that load quickly across all devices.

A smarter ad strategy, built from the ground up 

Galerie’s business depends on advertising, and that meant ad delivery couldn’t be an afterthought, it had to be foundational. From the earliest design comps to the final deployment, we built with monetization in mind. Every template, every content block, and every responsive breakpoint was engineered to support ad formats that balance revenue goals with reader experience.

There was nothing “standard” about this. It was one of the most complex ad strategies we’ve implemented to date. We worked closely with Galerie’s partners and internal stakeholders to configure a full suite of placements — including high-impact run-of-site units, native integrations, and inline sponsored content — all without slowing the site down or compromising editorial flow. That level of precision now positions Galerie to scale ad revenue with confidence.

The site was designed to accommodate multiple ad formats from day one, including high-visibility run-of-site banners, custom native placements, and dynamic inline options. Templates were structured to support flexible delivery logic, enabling the team to match ad types with content automatically while preserving editorial integrity.

Every element of the ad framework was carefully tested for speed, responsiveness, and future scalability. Integrating Google Ad Manager directly into the build allowed for tighter control over delivery and optimization, reducing the need for post-launch rework and giving Galerie a system that’s ready to evolve with their revenue strategy.

Delivering insights through custom dashboards

For a site so focused on art and beauty, it’s also all about the data. That’s where an evolved approach to analytics and tracking offered a huge benefit.

We implemented GA4 with advanced tracking and created two custom dashboards in Looker Studio: one for overall site performance, one for ad unit metrics.
